Integrated Marketing Communications
During my third year at the University of Guelph, I was able to work on an Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) group project, where I completed several assignments and design elements along with the help of my classmates. The company we chose for our project was Nextleaf Solutions Ltd., which has made recent news with regard to its patents in innovative cannabinoid extraction and distillation. Shown below are my group’s written plan and pitch, which were the two final components of the project.
Final Business Plan – DonApp
During my time in 5th year, I took an Entrepreneurship course where I was given the opportunity to work with a group and create a potential business idea. After the business ideation, financing, marketing and management stages, we were able to create a final business plan as well as a pitch deck that was presented in front of a class of 50. What was quite similar to a Dragon’s Den or Shark Tank experience felt very rewarding. Our big idea was a donation app service similar to Uber, where you could find drivers or drop-off locations for your unwanted clothes in your neighbourhood. This would be a non-profit organization that is primarily financed through corporations and angel investors (i.e., major donors) as well as crowdfunding. This business plan was compressive, including even a Pro-forma income statement.
Case Report – Aspire
In my fifth year, I worked on many real-world cases and developed reports. For example, for one class, I designed a case report for a cricket protein snack company called “Aspire” using Adobe InDesign.
